We need thinkers

>
>
> IN EVERY CULTURE WE NEED THINKERS WHO QUESTION AND CHALLENGE OUR CURRENT WAYS OF LIVING...WHO DARE TO SUGGEST THERE IS ANOTHER WAY TO LOOK AT THE SITUATION. AFTER ALL THE HUMAN LEARNING CURVE IS ON GOING FROM PERSON TO PERSON AND GENERATION TO GENERATION.

Live in the Inspirations of Eternity

>
> "ALMIGHTY GOD, UNTO WHOM ALL HEARTS ARE OPEN, ALL DESIRES KNOWN, AND FROM WHOM NO SECRETS ARE HID: CLEANSE THE THOUGHTS OF OUR HEARTS BY THE INSPIRATION OF THY HOLY SPIRIT, THAT WE MAY PERFECTLY LOVE THEE, AND WORTHILY MAGNIFY THY HOLY NAME; THROUGH CHRIST OUR LORD. AMEN. I have prayed these words from childhood and every time they flow across my mind my soul is refreshed. These words are in our service of Holy Communion. They acknowledge our incompleteness, our wrongness, our guilt, our fears and they claim for us the ever present renewing work of Holy Spirit in our hearts, minds, bodies. Live in the inspirations of Eternity this day.

Wait for the Lord

WAIT FOR THE LORD....(Psalms 27: 14) - We live in a culture of impatience. We are impatient when the car in front of us does not move quick enough to suit us when the light changes. We are impatient when someone is slow telling their story. We are impatient when God is slow answering our prayer request. Remember the One who sorts things in His time. Wait and be ready to do what Spirit gives you to do now. Some of our best thinking is done while waiting .........

What matters is God's Word

>
> ".....because the news about your faithfulness is being spread throughout the whole world." (Romans 1:8) Your word has to count for something because that's about all you have left. Integrity. It was said of Eddie Arnold that the hand shake was all you needed. His honesty was solid. We have performance bonds to assure a person will do his job well. The integrity of my word is rooted in the integrity of God's word. The stability of what is happening in the human affair now depends upon the certainty of God's word. It is all we have: in church, home, marriage, business, government. God kept his word on the cross-God kept his word in the resurrection-God is keeping his word in the work of the Holy Spirit now. What matters is God's word. "I love you-you are my child-no matter what happens this word stands." The word about our faith, our integrity, our honey, our love, our benevolence spreads, and spreads......

Work

>
> "WHATEVER YOU DO, DO IT FROM THE HEART FOR THE LORD AND NOT FOR PEOPLE." (Colossians 3:23) - work is not a necessary evil; although we may sometimes feel or think it is. I see work as a sacred trust. a opportunity to participate with Creator. Work engages all our faculties. In our culture a person has multiple options for work. Work engages mind, body, spirit, emotions. Work is a way of expressing ourselves and we feel better about ourselves when we have made good use of the specific gifts we have inherited in creation. our work is even richer when shared with and/or affirmed by others. I think of the analogy of the human body. Each part has purpose and function. Each part is important to the best function of the whole. No part can look at the other and say you do not matter. We enhance the experience of life when we celebrate each other. The world would be a boring place if every person was the same as every other person. We do the work of life as we do the work of diversity. I remember a church growth leader saying to me one time that it is a mistake to put a nuts and bolts person in a visionary job to work out a master plan. Likewise it would be foolish to put a dreamer and visionary person in the work of maintaining and doing the detail work. Value and respect your gifts in work and value and respect the other person too and the world will be a better palace in which to live and grow.

While we were still sinners

"BUT GOD SHOWS HIS LOVE FOR US, BECAUSE WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS(IMPERFECT) CHRIST DIED FOR US." (Romans 5:8) -  I know this is true and I am blessed by this love every day, but I still suffer sadness when there is so much hurt. Thank You Christ for your Love. amen.

grounded on what is behind what I see

>
>
> ".....so that the visible came into existence from the invisible." (Hebrews 11:3) - I am not grounding my faith on what I see but on what is behind what I see. The neatly wrapped gift is placed in my hand and is beautiful, but what is even more beautiful is the love and being remembered that is behind the gift. Today I will receive many notes from God and they will remind me of the invisible love that gives its very life for me and you and you and you.........
