> ".....I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves..." (Matthew 10: 16) --- this is good counsel as we deal with the diverse experiences and people in our lives.

Spirit of God is now
Spirit of God is in the now, active, nudging, counseling, saying: yes and no, wait, speak, be silent. Our part is to listen and heed the Counsel within us.....

wait silently
Wait silently until you really have something to say. To speak out of a sense of coercion or a feeling you are expected to speak is distracting. Answer to your own soul. -- and "let everyone be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger; for anger does not produce God's righteousness." (James 1: 19) ---
reverence
A sense of reverence. The sensitivity, the awareness of value, beauty, principle, God. Otherwise we are crude, vulgar, blind, deaf, and without appreciation for the intangible meaning of the moment and the persons around us. Reverence moves us to give thanks for the sun rising on a new day.----- This day belongs to You, O God. Thanks for letting me be part of it. Amen

> Through the years my form of telling has evolved but my message remains solid that "God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them." ( 2 Corinthians 5:19) and I delight in seeing this happen at every turn along the way. Reconciliation is happening in me, in you, in others you encounter...........

> "Open my eyes so I can see--what you show me--of your miracle-wonder." (Psalm 119: 18) ---- sometimes I look all around me for something and can't see it when all the time it is under my nose. We live every moment in the presence of beauty, wonder, goodness, special people but may not really see this because we are distracted or our minds are not in the present. TODAY O GOD, CLEAR MY VISION, ENABLE ME TO SEE WHAT REALLY MATTERS NOW AND THANK YOU!!! ----

greatest threat to survival as persons
>>
>>
>> "When we surrender our agenda of truth to the desire to capture the greatest number of viewers, we have abdicated leadership, and that is part of the leadership vacuum in this country."( Bob Woodward, Journalist) - he fis speaking to the integrity of journalism; however the implication here addresses all areas of life and work. We read advertisements with a degree of cynicism for we have learned they do not always speak truth. I believe our greatest threat to survival as persons and nation is inner unfaithfulness to the ideals and principles of truth and right and good.

> "Lord, when I don't see evidence of Your work, increase my faith." I read this prayer in "Daily Guideposts" this morning. It spoke to me and i share it. There are times when it seems God is not listening. In our culture we expect results immediately. Fortunately God acts in His own time and our faith carries us until God is ready to speak. One of our growing edges spiritually is patience while we wait on the Lord to make known what we need. In the maintain be assured you have been heard and the answer is forthcoming.....of course, sometimes it takes us a while to hear or see the work of God because it may not be happening in the way we expect...........

Clean Heart
>
>
> "CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART, O GOD, AND PUT A NEW AND RIGHT SPIRIT WITHIN ME.".-Psalm 51:10- a healthy physical heart is necessary for keeping the body alive. Likewise a healthy spiritual heart is required to keep our spiritual being in tune with Eternity.....and to cause our presence in this world to be a blessing. Therefore this prayer is a constant as I travel life today.....

(Weavings) - When we read the life and work of Christ, we get insight to God's hope for the world.....for you...for me...for the person next door......pray for the grace, strength to live in God's hope....then the troubles of the world and life cannot consume you in despair......

> The parade of humanity moves across the landscape of history and approaches the throne of God. Some have one leg or no legs, one arm or no arms, some have disfigured faces, some have spirits that are crippled with despair, some are disabled by hatred, unforgiven and unforgiving, some are simply insane. but a strange thing happens. There shines forth from the throne of God love, compassion, forgiveness, grace, acceptance, healing, and all the marred humanity is transformed and made new and whole. and the Spirit says, "behold, I make all things new." And there comes forth from the throne the voice of God saying a most amazing thing. "Welcome, well done. You have made it despite your troubled and damaged minds, hearts, bodies, lives." I find comfort in these thoughts in the midst of a world troubled, sick, violent......we just simply cannot give up on doing the best we can and all the good we can.....Now the final word is that God has all this he wants to give us, but we have to ask, open our minds, hearts, spirits and say: I surrender all......
