By My Spirit

(Zechariah 4:6) --- first we are established in our faith and relationship with God, then we will be able to deal with the "battles" of life. And the Prevenient Grace of God goes before us and we follow in His Way as Spirit gives us a sense of readiness........

(Matt. 10:34-39 / William Barclay Commentary) -- strange as it may seem, a person cannot really be true to family and other duties until one is true to God. It is a matter of priorities and ultimate values. I do not hear Jesus in this text splitting up families. I hear him saying that our ability to really love and care for family must be grounded in our responsibility to God and his will. Jesus knelt in the Garden and prayed that God would not require him to endure the cross, but his final words of prayer were that no matter what he wanted God's will be done. And God can only do Good. Truth and love and care for one another can only be done well when grounded in the ultimate Good who is God. God is love...  dad/papa  

Corinthians 14:40

(1 Corinthians 14:40) -- good manners, respectful behavior toward one another. careful and thoughtful use of words toward one another. The climate of our political world is confusing, hurtful, hostile, chaotic, disrespectful......somewhere in all this must come good and orderly, constructive, healing ......  dad/papa
