Old saying

IT IS A OLD SAYING BUT STILL FRESH IN ITS RELEVANCE:" I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS, BUT I KNOW WHO HOLDS THE FUTURE."-- "THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD, I SHALL NOT WANT..." FOR WHATEVER IS THE NEED NOW.....MY FREEDOM IS IN-" NOT MY WILL BUT YOUR WILL, O GOD, BE DONE."-- AND GOD IS COMPLETELY TRUSTWORTHY. -- SO LET US BE PATIENTLY PRESENT IN WHAT IS TIMELY....IN THIS MOMENT OF LIFE......(ADD YOUR OWN INSIGHTS....)

A prayer from a very special person

When I ask God for something I wait for one of three answers... 1. "Yes" 2. "not yet" And 3. "I have something better in mind for you"

It is pretty well known  that we have two hemispheres of the brain. One side deals with logic and language and the other with images, shapes, art, and story. To be a whole person we need to let both sides of our brain work. Our imaginative capacities enable us to step out of the "facts of now" and into imagination of what might be. "Children offer the world a special blend of fantasy and reality……children remind us that our 'real' lives can be nurtured by our imaginations." It is a special gift of Creator that we have both reason and imagination. The heart of Advent/Christmas/Hanukkah calls for imagination. The "nuts and bolts" of God's coming into our lives and the world to deliver us and love us is not the important point. Imagine that we really are God's children and God comes into the crazy and messed up world to fill us with the Joy of Life…….

Three words of wisdom for living abundantly. 1)  "there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1) ---2) "a prudent man gives thought to his steps." (Proverbs 14:15) -- 3) "everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way." (1 Corinthians 14"40) ----TIMELINESS///CARE AND THOUGHT FOR WHAT I AM DOING///IS WHAT I AM DONG SUITABLE,APPROPRIATE TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND DONE  WELL BEHAVED AND DISCIPLINED? ----well, just some checkpoint thoughts.

> I am sitting in my sun room looking out at the rain. Down the street I see my neighbor taking he morning paper to his neighbor. This is a random act of kindness. This is a antidote to what is wrong in human relationships. And there is another dimension to this scene. The guy doing his neighbor a good turn walks with a limp and one arm is held up close to his chest because a stroke has left him partially paralyzed. But his serving spirit is not paralyzed. "...the fruit of the Spirit is ..kindness..". It is also doing what you can with what you have.

FW: THOUGHT

"….HE WANTED ME TO BE WITH HIM UNHURRIEDLY AND GENTLY." This thought came from a caregiver as he reflected upon his relationship with a patient. However, it has implications for all relationships during a day. Many times we may be not present when we are present with another person. Our minds are working on the next thing…..I have a little thought I reflect on: "Be present to the present--be present to the Presence in the present." GOD WITH US is a fundamental concept of our understanding of God. And when God is with us, God is not thinking about the next thing, person on his to do list-God/Spirit is really 100% with us-you,me in this very moment….slow down, let yourself be aware of Presence in this present….

FW: THOUGHT

>"THE EASIEST WAY TO ENJOY THE PRESENT IS NOT TO FEAR THE FUTURE." (Robert
>Rodale) -- "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that
>everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life."
>(John 3:16) - I memorized this as a child. It has been a
>comforting(strengthening) thought from childhood to now and into all
>future; therefore no need to fearŠeveryone is afraid a some time, but
>fear need not be the fundamental state of a person.

FW: THOUGHT

HENRI NOUWEN WAS THE PASTOR AND CAREGIVER TO A SEVERELY HANDICAPPED YOUNG MAN. IN HIS REFLECTIONS HE CAME TO A MOST LIBERATING INSIGHT TO CAREGIVING: "ONE OF THE GREAT RICHES OF CAREGIVING IS THAT IT EMBRACES SOMETHING MORE THAN SIMPLY A FOCUS ON CURE." IN OUR "FIX IT" CULTURE WE ARE IMPATIENT AND FRUSTRATED WHEN WE CAN'T FIX A SITUATION OR A PERSON. NOT EVERYTHING CAN BE FIXED. NOT EVERY ILLNESS DAN BE CURED. CHRIST DID NOT COME INTO THE WORLD TO FIX IT. HE CAME TO EMBRACE, LOVE, BE WITH US. WE ARE CALLED TO BE EMBRACERS....

> The hour is early. I am sitting in my study with a cup of coffee. I look at the picture on the wall and wonder how it got a little crooked. Then in the shadows it looks like every picture is a little cocked off center. I remember visiting the home of a church member many years ago and noticing that nearly every picture on her walls was a little cocked side-ways. I realized this was purposefully done. She was making a statement. She was not exactly a follow the crowd person. Well, the message in these ponderings is that life gets knocked off course, off center, cocked sideways but we do not stop living. In fact it is just ok to be a little odd in the eyes of the world, and the Grace of God loves us and works with us just as we are,- not hanging exactly perfect on the wall of life…..

"The Lord is my Shepherd…(Ps.)….I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself, sacrifices himself if necessary…" (John) --- our ego does not take to the idea of being a "dumb" sheep. We like the idea of being independent, self-sufficient, tough it out, don't need any help. Well, that is a thing of fantasy. While we are being independent, "sowing our wild oats" Someone has to be looking out for us; otherwise we might "jump off the cliff" to stupidly show how brave we are…..God comes to us in the Advent/Christmas rituals to remind us that He cares, and is always present and

i can't see his face. i can't hear his voice. i wonder if he is really here. everything is so quiet and still. then i look and see the faint light coming upon the sky. day is gradually making it's way into now. something stirs inside me. it is a positive and good feeling. THANK YOU SPIRIT OF LIFE FOR NOW, THIS MOMENT, AWARENESS, GIFT. HERE I AM, POINT THE WAY. LET ME WALK WITH YOU IN NOW.....AND SO MAY IT BE FOR EACH LOVED ONE RECEIVING THIS THOUGHT....

> "He had nearly inexhaustible patience with individuals but no patience at all with institutions and injustice." ( Philip Yancey, "The Jesus I Never Knew" ) - How can a person stand on the side line and watch a person's house burn and do nothing to help because he has not paid his dues? Sick people came to Jesus for healing on the Sabbath and he healed them. He was "called on the carpet" because the law(institution) said it was illegal to do any kind of work on the Sabbath. Structure, law, necessary for function, stability, accomplishment, society, but these vehicles are not the end in themselves. All human institutions are accountable to the Spirit of Truth, The Ultimate Love….Compassion…..

FW: THOUGHT

WHEN GOOD MEN/WOMEN/YOUTH/CHILDREN DO NOTHING EVIL PREVAILS----EVIL IS A DEADLY DISEASE INFECTING THE MIND, BODY, SPIRIT OF HUMANS AND HAS TO BE FOUGHT IN EVERY GENERATION. EVIL IS A THREAT TO HUMANS IN EVERY CONTEXT OF LIFE. JUST BECAUSE PERSONS RISE TO HIGH LEVELS OF LEADERSHIP IN BUSINESS, GOVERNMENT, EDUCATION.....DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE IMMUNE TO EVIL. DAILY NEWS REVEALS EVIL COMMITTED BY PERSONS FROM THE HIGHEST TO THE LOEST LEVELS OF HUMAN ACTIVITY. "CLEANSE THE THOUGHTS OF MY MIND BY THE INSPIRATIONS OF YOUR HOLY SPIRIT....CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART AND PUT A NEW AND RIGHT SPIRIT IN ME, O GOD...."

Fwd: thought

"Are we ready to stop projecting our lack of fulfillment onto other people and take our lives into our own hands?" I remember the story of Moses when God was laying on his heart to go lead the people out of slavery in Egypt. Moses kept saying how helpless he was and God said, "What is that stick in your hands?  Throw it on the ground…" And when he did so the stick became a serpent. The point being we need to look at what we have and see the potential in it to do what is needed. Blaming other people for our problems is futile.

Divine Power

>
>
> "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him…." (2 Peter 1:3) -- It doesn't matter how bankrupt I / you may feel, it is certain our Source can never go bankrupt. So, God, here we go into this day. I hope You know what You are doing, because I have invested everything I am in You…..

>
>
> "BE A SOLUTION CONSCIOUS PERSON--NOT A PROBLEM CONSCIOUS PERSON." -- that is a interesting way to approach the daily work of life. See your problems as opportunity to figure out a solution. Yes, I think I will check this idea out as I travel the moments and experiences of today. Want to give it a try????
