Love

"…love…binds all things together…" (Colossians 3:14) — "If I contradict myself, I contradict myself. I contain multitudes." (Walt Whitman) - "I am more than I have shown you and more than you are willing to see. Let's work our love and know each other more fully" (Mark Nepo) - In the midst of the storm these words may sound fragile, unrealistic, not work for you. But when the storm passes and leaves its destruction, the sun will shine, life goes on, people gather to clean up the mess and help one another build again and hope again…..I listen to these thoughts in this world of violence and pain….

Long Term

"…(he) remained calm and steady..stayed focused on his long term strategy, not daily tracking polls. … He had lost as many elections as he had won…..he refused to give up. He kept working, kept running, kept striving to do his best." (George W. Bush in "41") - Any person who has ever accomplished anything worthwhile can resonate with these words regarding former President George H.W. Bush. The truth is these are words that speak to the work of living a life, traveling from birth to death, experiencing whatever happens along the way. Even in the senior days of life these words keep us on the path until we have "plowed to the end of the row".

Silence is Okay sometimes

"I'd simply sit with him…there was something peaceful and honest about my lack of expectation….we would spend hours together, most of the time saying nothing at all, and it was this quiet, unassuming way that we finally became friends."(Nicholas Sparks)-  these thoughts describe the relationship between a father and son. the son had arrived at the understanding that he and his father did not have to talk to meaningfully be together. We tend to be uncomfortable with silence. Silence sets the stage for awareness, feeling the presence, content with being present to each other. In silence become aware of Holy Presence………God is always present, even in silence…..

Today's Truth

Today’s Truth
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more importnat than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” (Matthew 6:25-26 NIV).

Sit Still Where Your Souls Abides

TO BE IN TOUCH WITH WHAT IS ETERNAL FIRST
TO HOLD ALL ELSE IN ITS TEMPORAL STATUS
TO RELATE TO ALL AS A STEWARD ACCOUNTABLE TO GOD
TO SIT STILL AND QUIET UNTIL YOUR MIND AND SPIRIT SIT TOGETHER IN THE QUIET PLACE WHERE SOUL ABIDES.

(Philippians 4:6,7)

HAVE NO ANXIETY ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERYTHING BY PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION WITH THANKSGIVING LET YOUR REQUESTS BE MADE KNOWN TO GOD. AND THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH PASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL KEEP YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS. (Philippians 4:6,7)   i invite you to think about these words in the moments and experiences of life today. AND PEACE BE IN YOU I PRAY…

Trust God's Plans for You

"….You have made many wonderful plans for us…" (Psalms 40:5) . Parents plan for their children. We plan for health care. We plan for just about everything. God has plans for all creation and every creature of creation. We are not caught up in some crazy haphazard blunder in this world and in this life. Wise plans are motivated by love for those included in our plans. However, if you or I chose to ignore the plans and go our own way, we have the freedom to do so. The great Lover of us all grants us that freedom. Beware, walking away for God's plans for you. Trust the plan and live confidently. — Lord, save us from our foolish ignoring of your plans for us and when things get rough help us not to give up trusting You.
