i like this story  " A FOLKTALE ABOUT A FATHER PURSUING A SON WHO'D RUN FAR AWAY, FROM ONE WORLD TO THE NEXT. THE FATHER CALLED TO HIM, 'PLEASE COME BACK!' BUT HIS SON LOOKED ACROSS THE GREAT GULF BETWEEN THEM AND SHOUTED TO HIM, 'I CAN'T GO THAT FAR!' SO THE FATHER YELLED TO HIS SON, 'THEN JUST COME BACK HALFWAY!' BUT HIS BOY REPLIED, 'I CAN'T GO BACK HALFWAY!.  AND FINALLY HIS FATHER SHOUTED, 'WALK BACK AS FAR AS YOU CAN! I'LL GO THE REST OF THE WAY!'"

Just when you need it

The first thing I heard when I woke up this morning was news that President Obama had selected the worst possible candidate to head the new Consumer Financial Protection Agency.  The woman he as selected is the worst nightmare for business and profitability under the guise of "protecting the consumer".     FEAR immediate grabbed my gut because I have everything on the line financially and failure will result in completely starting over at less than zero at 45 years old with millions in debt.

Then, 1 hour later as I was trying to focus on one email at a time and one rung on my ladder at a time, CNBC comes on with Bernie Marcus, founder of Home Depot.  I can't quote the entire interview but the meat of it was exactly what I needed to turn my fear into resolve this morning.  This guy came from where I am today and struggled through the same stages we are dealing with today and he made it.  

I believe this inspiration was a little lift from above that I needed this morning.  Saying "don't give up. stay the course. you can do it."

The Word is I Love You

The world is so much with us. Life is lived completely encased in the tangible, the visible until we tend to think this  is all there is. Values are measured by the measurable evidence. Problem is this is deceptive. This shallow thinking eventually leaves us forsaken and empty. My ways are not your ways says God. My purpose for your life is  bigger and better than the purposes of the world around you. Turn your heart, mind, prayers to the One who has the first and last Word….and the Word is I Love you and I am making you new.  You really can trust this Word.
