The Log Roll

>"…BY HIS POWER WE ARE KEPT FROM FALLING.." (JUDE 24) - "Do the log roll" says the nurse as I learn how to get out of bed following abdominal surgery. I am sore, I am afraid, I am weak and tubes are coming our of several places in my body. I have no choice but to have someone help me stay on my feet and not topple over. Sometimes it is the nurse and some times it is one of my children. All this goes to say that for someone who has worked hard to be in charge, being helped is……but I am grateful to have the good sense to know I am never really in charge and I am grateful for all the people who have been here to help me and keep me from falling. After all the power of God that keeps us from falling often comes in the person of someone who cares and loves enough to be there to help.

You Shaped me First Inside

Some times we are feeling heavy our guilt, mistakes, failures until it consumes us. But the Friend, Holy Spirit who never leaves us alone brings too our remembrance "I have come that you may have life abundantly.." Not because you have not rotten spots in your life but because my Love has taken care of your mistakes and failures. Therefore we say, "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." HAVE A GREAT DAY!

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalms 118:24) - It is very meaningful to me as I listen to these words. In the depth of illness attention is on surviving. Now on the way to recovery there is a sense of joy and wonder in saying these words. Yet, somehow, I am not sure I did not say them in the worst of days. Anyway we are all beneficiaries of what God is doing in this day.
