when white hairs come

>"Listen to me….till you grow old I am He, and when white hairs come, I will carry you still; I have made you and I will bear the burden, I will carry you and bring you to safety. (Isaiah 46:4) - From childhood we struggle to be independent. It is in our nature. Yet life experiences teach us we are never completely self-sustaining. Then comes old age and once again we face the reality of vulnerable, needy, shaking hands reaching our for someone to help. But in these words of Isaiah I hear reassurance. At the end of the day all we really need is in God's faithfulness. Life may not be all we want but when all is said and done our rest and security and fullness of life in in "I am He..I will carry you." The sooner we accept this reality the sooner we begin to really live in the hear and now. And to give thanks for those helping hands God provides for us.
