From a distance it might appear to be anything poking its head up out of the ground. Up close it is a pump with handle on it. There is a rusty can with water in it beside the pump. The water is poured into the top of the pump while at the same time moving the handle up and down until water from deep in the ground starts pouring out. I remember this mechanism in the field on Uncle Gene's farm. In the middle of a hot dry day he would stop plowing and pump fresh cool water to satisfy his thirst. From this simple device came life giving water. By simply turning out attention to God we find love, forgiveness, kindness, reconciliation, and every other life giving spiritual water that satisfies our need.
