> I watched my granddaughter and her team play the game of soccer yesterday. The afternoon was hot. Parents and grandparents cheered them as they played. It was not one of their best performances but as the game progressed the players became more engaged. When it was over we embraced them with love, affirmation, words of encouragement and moved on to other matters of the day. This morning i ponder this parable of life. Some days are hot and we just are not on top of our game; yet we keep at it. At the end of the day we are still in the embrace of God's love and affirmation. We are encouraged and renewed. And our granddaughter is a neat little girl growing in the embrace of a family who loves and cares for her.
