"....a sound of gentle stillness and a still, small voice....a gentle and quiet whisper." (I Kings 19:12) ---In Native American Wisdom there is the concept of tuning in with nature. Many days may be spent away, alone in the forest, listening, becoming aware of the sounds and movements of creatures, wind, Great Spirit.---Elijah is spiritual leader of the people. He is tired and frustrated with the distraction and unfaithfulness of the people in living true to their spiritual heritage, values. Now, he is off alone, secluded, discouraged. In that setting he becomes aware of God's presence---"a gentle and quiet whisper.."---So is it for us today. Many voices, appeals, demands, expectations, duties, wants.......keep the quiet moments.....settling down and in rituals.......awareness of the quiet whisper.....
