"...you have defeated....because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." --1 John 4:4--Life doesn't happen in a uninterrupted flow of peace and happiness. We live in a crazy, mixed up, conflicting environment. People are shooting one another somewhere every night it seems. Behind closed doors families live in times of conflict with moments of peace. And the painful experiences of life happen constantly in all levels of our existence. Yet, despite all this negative, persons rise above the death and destruction to become noble, benevolent, caring, participants in home, work and community. At the end of the day we look to the good one has done more than the mistakes. How is this so? Because  the Holy Presence in you is greater than the bad influences in the world around you.And God never gives up on you. We always need persons who are not perfect but keep on keeping on....

Peacemakers Seek to Understand

"HAPPHY ARE PEOPLE WHO MAKE PEACE, BECAUSE THEY WILL BE CALLED GOD'S CHILDREN." -Matthew 5:9 - PEOPLE LNE UP AGAINST ONE ANOTHER AND THROW WORDS OR BULLETS AT ONE ANOTHER. IT BECOMES A US AGAINST THEM ENVIRONMENT. NO FAMILY, NO BUSINESS, NO NATION CAN GROW HEALTHY THIS WAY. THE  PEACE MAKERS DON'T GO IN WITH A BAG OF SOLUTIONS AND ANSWERS TO ALL PROBLEMS. PEACE MAKERS LISTEN, RESPECT, SEEK TO UNDERSTAND. PEACE MAKERS ARE MOST IMPORTANTLY A PRESENCE THAT NON-VERBALLY IS PEACEFUL.

He has Risen

"Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen,"...This question jumps into the center of my attention this morning. We spend so much of our selves consumed with devastation, tragedy, corruption and its consequences, fear of something bad happening, disappointment, grief and the list goes on endlessly. Yesterday was empty and energy was exhausted from the tragedy of the execution of Jesus. Now, this morning, Easter we awaken to hear the angels of heaven asked the question,"what are you doing here wandering around in the aftermath of death? The one you are looking for is not here but is risen." Life is moving on and resurrection is come. All your troubles are consumed in resurrection. You are being made new now....I will spend my energy in resurrection living and Holy Presence wherever I turn......and give thanks for you wherever you are....

This is Saturday, the day between. Yesterday evil: hatred, greed, misinformation, fear, jealousy, abuse, and everything contrary to the wellbeing of humanity won in the crucification of Jesus Christ. He was executed. Evil used the law to manipulate the legal system and popular opinion to brutally execute a innocent man. This is not a story about long ago. It is also a story about life in this world today. This kind of stuff happens all across the world today. We humans are hopeless and easily led astray. Now it is the day after. Quiet hovers over the community and many people are asking themselves what has happened. Some are consumed in grief. Our hope is that God will do something to straighten out the mess people have made. I hope and trust that tomorrow will be better.
