Peace

The Word today is: PEACE

The "eye of the storm" is calm, quiet. Winds blow and uproot, but there is a place at the center that is calm. 

"…my peace I give you…" (John 14:27)  …eventually the storm passes and peace prevails….

Today's Word: FAITH

The word today is 

faith 

Levels of truth are not yet seen but experienced because our faith connects us with the One who comes in the birth of a little baby…..innocent, small, fragile, dependent, but indestructable. Not even the kings of that day could destroy him because God was his protection, caring for his need…..faith sees what is unseen, knows what is not known and keeps us on the path of truth and Eternal Purpose…….

Nature Embraces Injury

 

Much of life is lived in transitions. Often transitions happen in response to trama or unexpected life changes. How we respond makes all the difference in what is to come. “…while there’s always the option to quit and run, working your way through a tragedy can sometimes be the best way to move forward.” (Ted Turner,Call Me Ted) 

 

It is helpful to note that Nature embraces injury and keeps on growing.

A Prayer for the President

A prayer for the President —  Teach the President to judge with your righteousness, O God……May the land enjoy prosperity; may it experience righteousness. May the President  judge the poor fairly; may he help the needy and defeat their oppressors. …..May your people worship you as long as the sun shines, as long as the moon gives light, for ages to come. (Psalms 72:1-5)

As we contemplate the birth of the baby Jesus it is well to pay attention to the reason he was born and take seriously God's saving plan rises above all.

Forgiveness

"If you forgive someone's sins, they're gone for good. If you don't forgive sins, what are you going to do with them?"

John 20:22-23 MSG

This is the Word that spoke to me this morning. When someone says or does something against me or hurts me, if I forgive them, it's done and I turn my attention to other things, including building a better relationship with the one who offended me. But what got my attention are the next words. If I don't forgive the offense what am I going to do with it? My mind festers, my anger stirs, my imagination takes off in unhealthy directions and I evade that person. I am distracted from engaging my mind and being in positive, good, kind behavior. When around that person my face shows my bad attitude. What am I going to do with the trashy feelings in me??? I really need to mark it off and get on with matters of the present and be the wiser for having the experience.
