I SIT HERE IN THE MIDST OF CLOTHES AND MEDICINE CONTAINERS, SHOES, BOOKS SCATTERED AROUND WAITING TO BE PUT AWAY INTO THEIR PROPER PLACES. YET THERE IS PEACE AND THE AFTER GLOW OF BEING WITH FAMILY CELEBRATING ANOTHER SPECIAL FAMILY WEDDING AT ISLE OF PALMS. IT OCCURS TO ME THERE MUST BE A BIT OF AFTERMATH MESS IN ORDER TO ENJOY A MEANINGFUL MOMENT. OUTSIDE MY STUDY WINDOW IS THE BEAUTIFUL SUN-LIT DAY. THANKS BE TO GOD FOR WONDERFUL MOMENTS AND MEMORABLE EXPERIENCES.

A friend of mine once said that when life quits changing and fear is conquered, there is a good chance you are dead.(Scott Walker, Daily Guidepost) . This is a good reminder that the goal of life is not to get rid of pain and inconvenience. Instead accept the challenge and deal creatively.

Living

"And the Word became flesh and lived among us…….full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)….I would rather see a sermon than hear one….my mother read us the Bible stories, but I learned more about the stories by the way she lived than when she read them…..her compassion, forgiveness, humility…..

Weeds and Wheat

Jesus said something about the weeds and wheat growing together until God decides to deal with it. There is so much beyond our power, our sense of right. the best we can do at times is hold steady in our sense of good and right trusting the ultimate will of God, not only in our personal life but also in the life of our nation and world. sad, yes, discouraged, no?
