Fw: thought

"Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.On this side of Eternity we are pretty well occupied with the physical of life.While that is necessary for physical survival, it is still temporary. The most important survival reality is our spiritual nature. Our spiritual nature is connected to Holy Spirit/God. At this level we live in eternity. The vitality of our spirit is essential to survival. it is our spirit that sees the possible in the impossible. "The Spirit gives birth to spirit." This is another  dimension of the advent of the baby Jesus.

Out of our Comfort Zone

"…whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance; and let endurance have its full effect, so that you may be mature….." (James 1:2-4) - we tend to gravitate to what is comfortable, easy, feels good…..and this leads to increasing weakness..the circle grows tighter around us until we are sitting in the chair of life looking out and feeling sorry for ourselves because we cannot get out and "play" / do things we want to do. Another  option is to face into the discomfort, the sore muscles, the inconvenience, the fear and give all our strength, will power to get going doing what we can…the result is we grow stronger, we find ourselves feeling better, attitude gets healthier, and we are back out in the sunshine of life having a great time…..

Psalm 119:32

I will run the way of your commandments, for you have set my heart at liberty. (Psalm 119:32) - When a person lives in harmony with truth, good, right, love, kindness, mercy, patience….he/she is mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually free….the shadow cast is shade for others who need a break, encouragement for the discouraged, affirmation for the beaten down, ….and the world is a better place..

Epiphany

Epiphany-

"Open my eyes, that I may see glimpses of truth thou hast for me…" From childhood to this moment the opening words of this hymn have been a prayer for me. It is a prayer for inner vision, awareness, understanding. It is a open ended prayer for God's ways of opening our eyes are unique and infinite. Each person has moments of awakening to truth at unexpected times.

Epiphany: a moment in which you suddenly see or understand something in a new or very clear way.

Embrace the Light

I look out the window in the light of this morning. There is the thought God did not just flip the switch and turn on the light for the world today. This light started toward this moment, this day hundreds of years ago. This moment did not come about accidentally. This moment comes from intention. "I know the plans I have for you……" === relax, embraced in light that has been long coming, in Love that has been light years coming…

Lift Each Other Up

"….ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER, AND BUILD EACH OTHER UP….." ( 1 Thessalonians 5:11) no one wants to be told how bad they are. He/she already knows. No matter how much front we put on our life, in the dark and private places we suffer where we feel inadequate, fearful, etc…A kind word, a warm smile, a thank you, a listening ear, just being present, and the list is open ended as to how you may encourage and build up someone while walking the path of life today……that is important work….

Freedome

> "….where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." (2 Corinthians 3: 17) - Since the Spirit is everywhere, freedom is everywhere; therefore we need not accept slavery to addictions of all kinds. Holy Spirit/Presence of Love and Goodness is ever present in the air we breath, in the sun upon our faces, in the person next to us, in the contrariness of relationships. We stand in the presence of whatever is in the moment free. Free to let kindness, good will, patience, love be a gentle breeze in our minds, hearts, bodies. We do not need to yield to the negative, hostile feelings stirring in us……freedom to breath deep and exhale fully and be renewed in our minds….this is true because where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom and the Spirit is everywhere….
