life is unfinished

There is part of a person that wants things neatly finished and under control. Reality is this doesn't really happen. Rough edges, dropped sentences, unfinished projects, dreams yet to be fulfilled, bad habits to be changed. Herein is opportunity to engage our and hearts in unfinished business today and experience the satisfaction of participating in God's unfinished work in the world and in each person. In the beginning Spirit said, "let us create..." and creating is happening, unfinished.

It is a good practice to listen to the news every night before going to sleep. You need to keep informed and stay on top of things. However that news you listen to should be news that matters in the long run of life, the Good News. Jesus advises his followers that while it is important to plan and to work and to provide all this is daily stuff and goes away. He says to keep focused on God's work in the world. The Bible describes that work and is relevant to every generation. The last news to listen to before turning out the light is if God takes care of the birds of the air surely he is going to take care of you and yours, but he is going to do it his way and in  his time.That is Good News, sleep in peace. (Matthew 6: 30-34) BTW this is the best news to start the day too.

We need thinkers

God's Will for us

"God's will for us is not only that we should be the persons He means us to be, but that we should share in His work of creation and help Him to make us into persons He means us to be. Always and in all things, God's will for me is that I should shape my own destiny work out my own salvation, forge my own eternal happiness, in the way He has planned it for me." (Thomas Merton/Trappist monk) - This is not a escapist theology. This is not a mindless religion. This fits the creation story of being created in the image of God and given responsibility to work and participate with God's dream and vision for all creation. And this happens in the place where you work and play and rest.

We never outgrow our need to Trust God

NO MATTER HOW FAR WE ADVANCE IN KNOWLEDGE, WE NEVER OUTGROW OUR NEED TO TRUST GOD/COMFORTER/COUNSELOR.

Look for Character

Every day we are exposed to persons out to sell and get your most valuable assets and not care a hoot for you. It remains ever true there is nothing you want that is worth selling your character.
